Lost? Never. How Holafly eSIM Made My Trips Abroad a Breeze

Have you guys seen those Tiktok videos where people were saying they almost never posted anything on their social media when they're back home but the moment they're on a vacation their Instagram stories immediately turned into Keeping Up with the Kardashians? Yup, that would pretty much sum me up as a person, unfortunately.

Staying connected while traveling has always been a priority for me—whether it’s for navigation, looking up recommendations on the go, or simply sharing my adventures in real-time (I don't gatekeep, you know that and I'll make sure to bring my tiny instagram followings on a virtual trip for sure). Over the past couple of years, I’ve relied on Holafly’s eSIM for three different trips, and it has never let me down. Sticking to my promise in previous posts, I'd like to share my experience so far with Holafly eSIM.

First Time Using Holafly: UK Trip (Feb 2023)

Back in February 2023, I traveled to the UK, covering London and Edinburgh, and this was my first time using an eSIM instead of a physical SIM card. I was using an iPhone 12 at the time, and I remember feeling a bit skeptical about whether an eSIM would work as smoothly as promised.

Turns out, the whole process—from purchasing to activation—was incredibly easy. After buying the eSIM online, I instantly received clear step-by-step instructions via email. The installation took just a few minutes, and as soon as I landed in London, my phone connected instantly to a local network once the eSIM was activated. I had reliable, unlimited data everywhere, from the bustling streets of Westminster to the historic corners of Edinburgh’s Old Town.

One of the best things about having unlimited data was how much it helped with navigation. I relied heavily on Citymapper to figure out the fastest Tube routes, bus schedules, and walking directions. Having fast and uninterrupted internet made getting around London way less daunting.

Second Time: Bali Trip (Aug 2023)

For my Bali trip in August 2023, I decided to use Holafly again. This time, I was traveling with friends, and since we were constantly hopping between Ubud, Nusa Penida, Canggu, and Uluwatu, I needed an internet connection that wouldn’t drop mid-journey.

Once again, Holafly delivered. The setup process was just as smooth, and I had strong coverage across the island, even in some of the more remote areas. While mobile signal in Nusa Penida can be spotty in general, I still managed to stay connected most of the time.

Third Time: UK Trip (Sept-Oct 2024)

You have to forgive me because I have yet to get over my fly-to-London bug yet. Of course, I went back to the UK and yes, I used Holafly again. This time, it was for my 10-day UK trip (London & Cambridge) from late September to early October 2024. This time, I was using an iPhone 15, but the process was just as seamless.

I activated the eSIM before my flight (remember to do this before you leave your home country), and the moment I touched down at Heathrow, my phone connected instantly. Throughout my time in London and Cambridge, the connection was fast and stable.

Why I’d Recommend Holafly eSIM

After using Holafly three times, here’s what I really like about it:

  • Easy Setup – The instructions are straightforward, and installation takes just a few minutes.

  • Instant Connectivity – No need to swap SIM cards or find a local store upon arrival. Ain't nobody got time for that.

  • Reliable Internet – Great coverage in cities and most travel destinations.

  • Unlimited Data – Perfect for navigation, streaming, and staying connected without worrying about limits.

For anyone looking for a hassle-free way to stay connected while traveling, an eSIM is definitely worth considering. Holafly has worked well for me, and I’ll likely keep using it for future trips.
